1. Introduction
Welcome to Route Forecast (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We operate the website and our native smartphone weather navigation applications. We are fully committed to protecting and respecting your personal privacy.
Our core mission is to construct a safe, simple, and highly useful travel tool. Because navigation inherently involves coordinate tracing, our design architecture implements on-device computations and local caching wherever possible. This ensures that you can plan route forecasts without uploading massive trip logs to server databases.
2. Data We Collect
To supply precise coordinates and route weather analysis, Route Forecast processes specific categories of information:
- Geographic Location Data: We access your GPS coordinates to display route parameters, local weather changes, and highway directions. This information is processed live.
- Trip Parameters: When you search for routes (e.g. Origin and Destination), these strings are sent to our routing APIs to draft maps and aggregate Doppler forecasts.
- Device Characteristics: We monitor essential, non-identifying telemetry (such as your phone model, operating system version, and UI layout scale) to debug app performance.
3. How We Use Data
The details we collect serve strict service execution tasks:
- Route weather assembly: Aligning weather radar coordinates directly with road track vectors.
- Real-time proximity warnings: Sending safety signals if severe clouds, wind currents, or precipitation clusters appear along your immediate vector path.
- Service optimizations: Adjusting screen styles, vector sizes, and computing load offsets to maximize battery life on your device.
We never sell, rent, or commercialize your geographic pathing data or personal profile strings under any circumstances.
4. Security Measures
Securing your navigation vector is crucial. We maintain advanced technological protective structures:
- HTTPS Protocol: All data communications between our applications and weather/road APIs rely on highly secure, encrypted transport layers (SSL/TLS).
- No Persistent Storing: Travel history points and specific latitude/longitude records are deleted from transient memory buffers after your trip has completed, unless you explicitly save them to your phone's secure local disk.
- Anonymized Node Queries: Weather node lookups are clustered into regional chunks so that specific street-level movements cannot be linked back to a single device IP address.
5. Your Control & Rights
You hold comprehensive sovereignty over your digital records:
- GPS Permission Control: You can activate, disable, or limit our access to your physical location services in your phone's OS settings panel at any moment.
- Local Data Clearing: You can delete cached search nodes, saved trips, and app storage records directly inside the application's configuration screen.
- Do-Not-Track (DNT): We respect standard web navigation flags and completely restrict third-party tracing signals.
